Step 1 – Instruct your subconscious mind in what you want the outcome of the healing to be as if it is your faithful servant. “Subconscious mind, I want you to help me (state the desired outcome here).” Now your mind is in gear and the intent for the healing has been set. Make note of whether the problem serves you in some way. If it does, you may or may not want to proceed. It’s up to you. If the issue does serve you (in some positive ways), simply change the wording of the releasing statement to: “I now permanently release all of the non-serving* parts of (state the problem here.)”
Step 2 - While rubbing your sore spot repeat three times: “Even though I have (state the problem here), I deeply and completely accept myself.” Say these words with feeling! You have now dealt with any psychological reversal for clearing the problem.
Step 3 - While tapping on all of your points (at least 7-10 times), repeat at each point “I now release (state the problem here).” After each round of EFT, make sure to take a deep diaphragmatic breath. This means that you will want to breathe directly into your diaphragm (stomach) as opposed to breathing into your chest. Let your lips remain perfectly slack during this process (you’re not doing Lamaze here:). Breathe gently and slowly into your diaphragm, and then let your mouth open and let the air gently fall all the way out. Take your time.
Step 4 - Repeat Step 3 if you still have some of the problem left, but change the wording to reflect the fact that you are only dealing with some of the problem. (Ex: “I now release the rest of (state problem here)). Do as many rounds of EFT ‘a la Stephanie it takes until you feel positive that all of the problem is gone (which means no matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to find it. Test yourself to make sure that it is gone).
Step 5 - (optional) - Once you are sure the problem is gone, you may want to install positives by rubbing them in. Sometimes it’s enough just to have the problem gone, but if you wish to install a feeling: simply create a positive affirmation that would be the opposite of the problem you have just released. While slowly rubbing “in” (clockwise) or simply set your intention that you are rubbing “in” at each EFT ‘a la Stephanie point, state “I now install (whatever you wish to feel here).” For some added punch, visualize yourself enjoying the outcome – as if the suggestion is a “done-deal.”
A typical round of EFT ‘a la Stephanie statements:
(While rubbing a sore/tender spot) “Even though I
have non-serving*
stress from my day, I deeply and completely accept myself.”
(While tapping) “I now permanently release all of the
non-serving stress
from my day.”
Optional - (while tapping) “I now permanently release the
rest of the
non-serving stress from my day.”
Optional - (while rubbing “in”) “I now
install total calm and peace
of mind.”
*Non-serving means that some stress can be a good thing. It can help you to remain pro-active. You wouldn’t want to get so relaxed that you couldn’t function, would you??
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) ‘a la Stephanie

1. Inform your subconscious mind what you want the POSITIVE outcome of the healing to be.
2. The Setup (for specific issues)- Find your Tender (Sore) Spot and begin rubbing it. Repeat this statement 3 times: “Even though I (state the problem here), I deeply and completely accept myself.” SAY THESE WORDS WITH FEELING!
3. The Sequence (tap on both sides of your body unless you are driving, then you can tap with one hand-but you may want to skip your ankle points: -). While saying your releasing statement at each point, tap these points approximately 7-10 times each: Top of the Head (TH), Eyebrow (EB), Side-of-the-Eye (SE), Under-the-Eye (UE), Under-the-Nose (UN), Chin (CH), Collar Bone (CB), Under-the-Arm (UA), Wrist (W), Top of Ankle - inside and outside (TA). NOW TAKE A DEEP DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATH.
(Note: The Top-of-the-Head point is slightly to the back (the soft spot on the head), the Collar Bone point is one inch down from the centre of your clavicle, and one inch to the right and/or the left, the Under-the-Arm point is approximately four inches down from your armpit - for women (in the middle of your bra on your side), for men (right in line with your nipple on your side).
4. Optional - If you find that you need extra rounds to completely rid yourself of the problem, start from the beginning with the Setup. However, change your setup statement to reflect the fact that you are addressing the remainder of the problem (i.e. “Even though I STILL HAVE SOME OF THIS (state the problem here), I deeply and completely accept myself.”) REMEMBER TO BREATHE.
5. Optional - (Check inside. If you look for the problem and if you can’t find it, you’re ready for this step). You do not have to do the Setup at this point. You can simply start at the crown of your head and instead of tapping the points, rub in the positive statements (i.e. “I now install complete calm and peace of mind.”) Do all of your points. TAKE A DEEP BREATH. YOU DID GOOD!
(Important Note: make sure that when you are checking for the
problem
to be gone, you are seeing the original thing that you thought of to
begin
the process. If you see something else and you still have a
negative
charge, that’s simply another aspect of the same problem, and
you will
want to do EFT on that aspect of the problem, as well. But if
you
go back to the original visualization and you can’t find a
negative charge,
you are free, and ready to install positives).
