I WILL LET YOU
KNOW IF I THINK I CAN HELP
YOU
YOU MAKE PAYMENT
There
are times in all our lives when
we need someone else to turn to.
Whether
it is for advice, specific help, guidance or simply to share
the
load, this service is is here to have empathy,
listen and help by working
alongside your own inbuilt drive towards health and well-being.
As
you develop a greater understanding of yourself, you
will find it easier to make decisions and take more control
over the way
in which
you respond
to difficult situations.
What does
Elevated Therapy International
E-mail Counselling
On-Line Offer?
I am not here to tell you
how, or what you should think. I help
people to create their own answers that work for
themselves....................
(One person's solution or answer might not
necessarily
work for another).
This is the best form of
counselling / therapy / support designed to permanently
improve
the life of others through understanding with `unconditional
positive regard`.
By taking this approach I can
deal with the source of the problem
ultimately rather
than the symptoms and thereby empower you with the
understanding to face problems in the future and
subsequently take
charge of your life.
- For virtually all problems there are no quick fixes. I
don't
pretend to
offer quick fixes with my e-mail counselling.
- It would be unprofessional for me to attempt to make
decisions
for you,
so don't write to me asking which man or woman you should marry or
which
job you should take (many people do). However, I will correspond with
you
about how to think through issues in order to make a decision that is
right
for you and possibly offer you techniques to help you to do that too.
- I am unable to counsel other people through you. Many
people
write to
me
in unhappy and unsatisfactory relationships of some kind. I can counsel
you and help you think about your own reactions to
the
situation,
but I can't make your partner / family change (neither can you)!
- I am unlikely to be able to help you via e-mail if your
problem
is
long-term,
deep-rooted, unspecified (i.e. no obvious causes), or clinical
depression. In these cases, you need good face-to-face
interaction with a
counsellor / therapist
and have loving and caring support.
- Be open with me. Don't hide potentially relevant
information as
it is
probably
relevant that I know early on.
- It would be unethical for me to counsel you if you were
already
receiving
professional counselling from another source.
I
promise:
- To let you know that I have received your initial
confidential
form and
subsequent e-mails, so you can be assured that your personal and
confidential
information has not been lost.
- To encrypt all your e-mails that I store on my computer, so
that
you
know
that there is no possibility of anyone other than myself reading them.
- To charge a reasonable fee for my e-mail counselling /
support, so
that
you
don't feel you are being treated unfairly by me.
- To provide secure credit card payment facilities, so that
you can
feel
confident about making any payment to me for my e-mail
counselling / support.
- To refuse to counsel you if I feel that I can not offer any
meaningful
counselling or help via e-mail. I want you to know that I am concerned
to help you rather than waste your time and mine.
- To tell you at any point when I think I can`t help you
anymore.

What
are
the
advantages of e-mail counselling / therapy with you?
E-mail counselling could be advantageous in the following situations:
- It could be an affordable alternative to conventional
face-to-face
therapy.
- You are particularly drawn to me and my work.
- You have reasons for keeping yourself distant, private or
anonymous.
- You would find it difficult visiting a therapist because of
disability,
shyness, agoraphobia, or other factors.
- You are in a remote area or country without suitable
English-speaking
therapists.
- You are not available for regular therapy because of the
hours
you work
or because you are often travelling.
- If you access the net on your laptop or other portable
device,
you can
continue with e-mail counselling from almost anywhere.
- You can make use of time (e.g. during the night) when you
would
not
normally
contact a therapist. I can also make use of ‘spare’
time when I would
not
be seeing face-to-face clients.
- This private method really appeals to you.
- You wish to explore yourself and your life.
- You are new to counselling and therapy and want to explore
it
first
using
this method.

I
would like a psychic
reading or
healing. Is your service right for me?
My e-mail counselling is not a psychic reading service: I do have
several
wonderful readings on-site HERE
This is not a distant healing service either. You can visit `Heaven
Sent` on-site for this HERE
This is a paid service offering psychological counselling and psychotherapeutic
support.
Often the best answers for you can come from within the self
or by
accessing
your own intuitive resources or higher wisdom, and e-mail counselling
is
one form of guided self-exploration. This is not a `quick fix`
solution,
but a journey of self-discovery which will take its own time.
return
to FAQ index
Can
I
be hypnotised over the
Internet?
My e-mail counselling / support is not hypnosis. Although I am a
qualified
supervising hypnotherapist as well, I do not hypnotise people over the
Internet.
Sometimes
people advertise hypnotic services that they claim can work over the
Internet
or the telephone.
I am not able to comment on such services, or indeed to recommend them.
return
to FAQ index
Can
I
discuss someone else
who has
a problem?
My e-mail counselling / support is not suitable for
‘counselling by
proxy’.
If you are not the actual client, but you are a well-meaning spouse,
partner,
relative or friend, I cannot discuss in depth or become in involved in
the other
person’s problems, even if you pay my fee. I can only
communicate
directly
with the would-be or actual client. I am governed by confidentiality.
However, I can discuss the other person in general terms and how it
effects you.
return to FAQ index
Can
you advise on sources of
information
on the Internet?
This service is not a substitute for internet research. If you want
general written
information on a problem, e.g. panic, stress, phobias,
medical problems, drugs, therapies, and so on, please see the many
psychology
and health-related links on this site.
They will lead you to a host of other specialist links. However, once
a counselling / therapuetic relationship is established between us, I
might
recommend a source of information or support group if appropriate
during
our correspondence or send you some specific information..
return
to FAQ index
Can
you find me a local
therapist
or support group?
This is not a referral service: Regretfully I cannot provide a free
referral
service (a) because it
may take hours of
my
research to find a suitable therapist or support group in your local
area,
and I might not be able to find one, (b)
I
am not given any special funding to undertake such work, which would
take
away my time from my normal work, clients and other commitments.
There are many resources on the Elevated Therapy
International web
site. Please use them if necessary. Links
Having said that, if an e-mail counselling / therapeutic
relationship
is developed, and you wish to transfer to local therapy later on, I
will
do my best to help you find a suitable resource, e.g. a therapy
organisation,
support group or on-line directory for you if appropriate.
return
to FAQ index
Is
your e-mail
counselling / therapy
helpful?
Naturally there will be some mainstream professionals who will argue
against
this method of delivering help. In my experience which is quite
extensive, a majority of people
can be significantly helped this way provided a certain rapport can be
established between helper and client. E-mail counselling / therapy can
be
an adequate method of helping someone work through some of their
feelings
and thoughts and encourage and develop change for them. It can also be
a way of supplying a client with the latest techniques in personal
development.
It can be effective in helping you take control of your life in a
productive
way.
It is widely accepted that writing can be used
therapeutically.
Keeping
a journal or dream diary, and undertaking various written exercises or
homework, are sometimes used in therapy. The very act of writing can
help
you organise your thoughts, develop focus and clarify your feelings.
return to FAQ index
How
do
we communicate?
Psychotherapy and counselling usually involves a face-to-face
encounter.
In my e-mail counselling / therapy, the written word is the only medium
of
communication and non-verbal cues, such as voice tone, expression and
gesture,
are absent here.
For this therapeutic relationship to develop, both parties must be
able to use written English communication easily.
It does not matter if your written English is not perfect, as
long
as
you can be understood and express yourself. I will not criticise your
language
skills, though I might ask what you mean if something is not clear. It
is better to do that than to ‘guess’ what you mean.
I feel comfortable with written communication, and can express
myself
well in words which is necessary and professional in e-mail
counselling / therapy.
This means that the process of writing does not ‘get in the
way’ of
my thinking when undertaking e-mail counselling with you.
return
to FAQ index
Can
we
communicate
interactively?
Yes, please see the two services below.
These methods are more expensive than general e-mail counselling, and
need to be booked and strictly organised.

May
I
send voice mail,
pictures,
encrypted files, etc. by e-mail?
No. This standard e-mail
counselling service at Elevated Therapy
International
allows maximum flexibility in use of time, to benefit you and me alike.
Any big file, or extra computing operation, will consume extra time and
might cause problems if there is data error or incompatibility. There
is
also the increased risk of viruses. The time you have paid for is best
spent in allowing me to concentrate on writing my replies and helping
you
directly, not doing computing tasks and waiting for long downloads.
return to FAQ index
What
issues do you work with
or specialise
in?
E-mail counselling / therapy and support may be helpful for a wide
range
of problems and issues.
My special interests include the following:
- Stress
- Redundancy, job loss, retirement (Counselling on
psychological
and
emotional
issues and preparing for career change. I do not provide financial
counselling
or find people work.)
- Support for people practising self-hypnosis, visualisation,
and
your
own
inner work etc
- Identity crises
- Some forms of depression
- Bereavement and Loss
- Workplace bullying
- Anxiety
- Cutting ties with the past
- Help and development in the use of affirmations
- Working with dreams and inner experiences
- Sexuality issues
- Relationship problems
- Introducing, using and developing EFT and the `energy
therapies`
[ MET`s ]for
yourself
- Career development (Life Purpose)
- Problems of a spiritual, transpersonal or metaphysical
nature (Spiritual Emergency)
- Unusual and uncommon experiences
- Advice / guidance and support to other professional
therapists and healers.
If your specific problem or issue is not listed above, you are still
welcome
to contact me.
return
to FAQ index
What
types of intervention or
counselling
do you use?
My counselling is both eclectic, holistic and flexible and can also be
an adjunct to general medical care. Initially I will usually be
concerned
with establishing that both you and I share some common understanding
and
rapport, clarifying the issues involved, helping to reduce any
confusion,
reassuring you, and checking that the you know the important facts that
you ought to know. Often a person’s thinking needs to be
challenged,
because
negative or unrealistic patterns of thinking can help to maintain bad
feelings
or continue to fuel the problem or issue.
Above all, my on-line counselling / therapy is a form of
listening,
talking
and communicating with me and me responding to what you say in ways
that
allow you to reflect upon your experience, understanding yourself
better,
beginning to take charge of your own self-healing process, and becoming
open and willing to positive change.
The intention is that the power should be shared. You will remain in
charge of the `agenda` - I am here to help you achieve what you want.
If appropriate, there are a variety and range of techniques
which
might
be used, including giving instructions for relaxation, self-hypnosis,
eft
and the energy therapies [ MET`s ] and other self-help exercises by
e-mail,
commenting
on and analysing dreams, using and developing affirmations, keeping a
diary
or journal, recording dreams, doing homework, suggesting self-help
visualisation
exercises and other self-help strategies, bibliotherapy (recommending
books
and discussing what you have learned about yourself from them),
recommending
Life-Force
tapes and cd`s and Customised
tapes and discussing how they worked for you, and so on.
You will find that some methods attract you more than others. If any
of the above methods interest you initially, please let me know at the
outset..
return to FAQ index
Do
you
counsel people of
varying
sexuality or different or unconventional religious beliefs?
I have experience counselling clients from all religious backgrounds
and
persuasions and some people with no belief in spirituality or `higher
belief`
at all.
I also see and work with people with differing sexual orientation and
this is not a problem / issue for me on any level.
I always respect a person’s beliefs and life-style and work
within
or alongside them. However, generally speaking, the more broad-minded
and
tolerant a person is of other attitudes, situations and beliefs, the
more
successful the counselling / therapy relationship and outcome
is likely
to be.
The more ‘orthodox’ or
‘fundamentalist’ the client, the more they
are
likely to resist change and find it difficult, partly because they
believe
that, having the `right` beliefs, they are superior to others,
including
me, and perhaps should even try to convert me. Such an attitude is not
a good indicator of successful therapy.

you,
I will ask you to pre-book a series of three sessions
by
sending
me a remittance of £60 (sixty pounds
sterling or British

What
if I want to end therapy?
You have the right to end therapy at any time. Our therapeutic
relationship,
like other relationships, can have a beginning, middle phase, and end.
It is obviously best to discuss the ending and the feelings that arise
with me, but inevitably, some clients will wish to stop abruptly. At
the
end, it is useful for me if the client sends an e-mail giving the
reasons
for ending counselling, and saying how the counselling was helpful to
them
up to that point. I will tell you at any time when I think I can`t
help
you anymore.
return
to FAQ index
How
secure and confidential
is e-mail
counselling / therapy with you?
There is always a risk that the initial confidential form and
subsequent
e-mails can be intercepted, but in practice intercepted e-mails very
seldom
happens. Unless you think your e-mails are being monitored for a
reason,
it is probably as secure as talking by telephone. Phone calls and
ordinary
postal mail can be intercepted too, but in reality the chances of this
happening are rare.
As a therapist, I have an obligation to keep communications
confidential.
It is generally recognised that there is a limit to this
confidentiality:
Therapists may be obliged to breach confidentiality if you reveal
anything
indicating that you are involved in harming yourself or someone else
–
especially a child – so that the appropriate authorities can
be
informed.
This standard ethical code also applies to e-mail counselling.
You may wish, in your communications with me, not to refer to
people
you are talking about by their real names.
You might, for instance, just use first names; change the first name;
or refer to people by their initials or use an alias.
It is entirely up to you. Likewise, you may wish not to reveal the
actual name of the place where you work, etc.

I am a full-time
university
student.
Should I use your service?
Most full-time students have Internet access. I am fully aware about
the
types of problems students can face. However, all universities have
counsellors,
psychotherapists and financial counsellors for their students.
Students’
unions often have their own counselling and advice services too. All
those
services are confidential. They are free to students. They have local
back-up
services such as medical doctors and other medical staff too. Also,
your
local student counselling service is best placed to liaise with your
tutors
and the university authorities if your problem is affecting your
studies
or exams.
So, if you are a student, please try the university
counselling
services
first. If you don’t know where they are, ask your department
or the
central
registry office.
I am sure the university counselling service will do
its
best to help you.
If you feel that you would like to be my counselling / therapy
client
via e-mail, perhaps because you feel drawn to me, the work I
do and my training and
experience,
you are welcome to contact me.
Unfortunately, at this time you are required to pay the same fee as
any other client.
If you are seeking my help for research with a paper or with
your
degree
project or thesis, I am sorry that I am unable to provide this type of
specialised assistance unless a fee is negotiated and I am approached
in
plenty of time. I receive a number of requests for help from students
around
the world - these are often time-consuming and / or complex queries and
it
often takes
much time to formulate a useful response. Regretfully, I am unable
to do such work at request or on a voluntary basis.

will
require your client`s permission for my participation.
Regretfully, I am unable to do such work for free and you are required

This EFT Manual has developed an enviable reputation for being an easy
to read colour document that will acquaint you with the basics. It
contains
the theory, the procedures, the tapping points and many tips on how to
perform the process. It also contains some shortcuts and some
case
histories to illustrate them further. Gary Craig who developed EFT
wants
to help spread the word regarding these remarkable procedures, so it is
my pleasure also to be able to offer support to people and therapists
alike
once they have read it and started working with them. This manual is

just put EFT

is received, I will
then
send the manual to you myself as well as my own `short-version`
protocol and you then have three sessions
(e-mails)
with me after that concerning the further refinement and development of
the techniques for yourself if you are a lay-person and / or
incorporating
them into your practice if you are a therapist.
This manual does not
constitute complete
training
in EFT.
No book alone can give
you complete support
in these fascinating procedures.
